Erika Nakatani (née Diehl, Western American) is an abstract painter who uses time as a medium and context. She lives and works in New Mexico.

Nakatani received her MFA from the Leroy E. Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland College Institute of Art. Her work has been supported through fellowships and residencies from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Jentel Foundation, the PLAYA Artist Residency, and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts.
